Primary Teacher

As a 2nd grade teacher in a traditional classroom setting, I designed and delivered engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to meet the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of my students.

I also provided targeted support through a dedicated ELD (English Language Development) focus group, helping multilingual learners build language proficiency and confidence in my classroom.

Beyond the classroom, I actively contributed to the school community by leading student activities such as chorus and the School Government Association, fostering leadership and creativity. I also implemented classroom transformations to spark student curiosity and participated in organizing school-wide events that promoted a positive, inclusive culture.

Elementary Teacher

  • At Colegio Simon Bolivar II, a bilingual private school in Caracas, Venezuela, I taught upper elementary students in grades 4 through 6, delivering instruction exclusively in English across core content areas—English Grammar, Reading and Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Math. Working in a Spanish-dominant environment, I intentionally created immersive experiences where English became a vehicle for academic thinking, creative expression, and meaningful communication. I designed and led interactive projects such as science fairs and dramatic plays, all conducted in English, which allowed students to apply their language skills in authentic and engaging contexts. These experiences not only fostered academic growth, but also helped build student confidence, curiosity, and agency as bilingual learners. Beyond academics, I initiated and supported school-wide recreational events, collaborating with high school juniors and seniors to bring these initiatives to life, which deepened my understanding of whole-school collaboration and community engagement.
  • This early experience in a global-minded, multilingual learning environment laid a deep foundation for my ongoing commitment to bilingual education. It affirmed my belief in culturally responsive teaching and in the transformative power of language to expand students’ worldviews and sense of identity. Whether organizing inclusive events, integrating content through language, or performing music alongside students and colleagues in school celebrations, I found joy and purpose in cultivating a learning environment where every child felt seen, valued, and capable across languages. These formative years shaped my educational philosophy—centered on connection, creativity, and global citizenship—and prepared me to serve diverse communities in international and multicultural school settings.
